Main Buttons

Main Buttons:

The following is a list of the functions of many of the main buttons of Apprentice. Many of these buttons and features are covered in more detail in other sections.

New Game:

Will bring you to a menu where you can load and edit a deck, as well as swap cards between your sideboard and main deck.

Deck Editor:

Will bring you to the deck editng interface.

Untap All:

This will untap all of YOUR cards, unless you've told Apprentice specifically not to untap a card (like Time Vault).

Draw Card:

Takes the top card from your library and puts it in your hand. (Holding shift while clicking on this will allow you to type a specific number of cards, which is a real time saver sometimes).

The Phase Buttons:

(Untap, Upkeep, Draw, Main, Attack, Discard, Switch Turns)

These buttons tell your opponent what phase your turn is currently in. Only the player who is currently taking his/her turn can advance the phases. Use the Switch Turn button (the one with the triangle) to...well...switch turns. A red marker over the appropriate icon denotes what the current phase is, as well as textual notification in the game log. You don't need to hit EVERY button over the course of your turn, but you should hit the important ones so that your opponent doesn't get lost.

The Life Buttons:

Oh those pretty little hearts. The one with the minus sign on it will decrease your life total by one point if you click on it, and the one with the plus...well you can figure that out. The one with no symbol brings up a popup that lets you type a life total in. Its good for big life gains/losses.

Ping:

This will measure the amount of "lag" between you and your opponent. Lag is basically the time delay between a player performing an action and his opponent seeing it. The lower the ping is, the faster your game will be. In other words: "Fire good, lag bad."

Reconnect:

This will reconnect you to a game you unintentionally disconnected from. Note that if one of the players closed Apprentice the game is lost. The person who hosted the game must hit Reconnect prior to his/her opponent.
